Programme Intégré de Valorisation et Transformation des Produits Agricoles et Agroalimentaires

As part of the implementation of its development strategy, Cameroon has put in place several initiatives (programs, projects, structures and support tools, etc.) aimed at enabling the private sector to play its full role and ensure the desired relay of public investment to accelerate economic growth. In addition to these initiatives, the Government has set up a mechanism to support economic units engaged in structural transformation through direct support.

However, the lack of synergies and bridges between the various existing tools does not allow to rationalize them and make the most of them, in order to create the necessary leverage to further strengthen the contribution of the private sector, especially that of agribusiness, to wealth creation.

Also, MINEPAT, which coordinates the implementation of the Government's economic policy, has little or no feedback on the implementation of these different mechanisms after the signing of the related agreements. This does not allow for a more effective orientation and promotion of the government's economic policy.

In order to correct this dysfunction, it was agreed within the framework of this program that an effective system would be put in place that would not only rationalize the support of the various government initiatives, but also create a synergy between these tools, in order to optimize support for businesses in order to strengthen their contribution to economic growth.
