Expected results

The implementation of the Component should lead to two main results, in relation to the specific objectives presented above: APME's intervention capacities with SMEs in the agricultural and agri-food sector, as well as its geographical coverage, are improved; SMEs in the agricultural and agri-food sector are effectively developed.
APME's capacity to intervene with SMEs and its geographical coverage are improved

This key result will be broken down into six (06) basic outputs as follows:

  • APME's system of labeling, accreditation and certification of actors and products/services is transparent and credible;
  • APME's network of competent local providers in the agricultural and agri-food sector is organized and efficient;
  • APME's project monitoring-evaluation and capitalization system is effective;
  • APME's resource mobilization system ensures the sustainability of the service to PMEA;
  • CA-PMEs are operational and efficient in 6 regions, with the CFCEs acting as relays in regions that do not have a CA-PME;
  • The online business registration in the mybusiness.cm system is functional in all 10 CFCEs.

News

SMEs in the agricultural and agri-food sector are effectively developed

This key result is broken down into four (04) basic outputs as follows

  • Partnerships and collaborative projects between actors in the basin value chains lead to operational and efficient collaborations between actors;
  • The performance of the beneficiary PMEAs, POs and PSAs is improved;
  • Access to financing for SMMEs is improved;
  • Beneficiary AEPS take advantage of the synergies and complementarities developed with other local projects and programs, in particular those financed by the C2D.
Effects and impacts

The main effects and impacts expected from the implementation of the project are:

  • The creation and securing of more than 4,830 jobs in the incubated, formalized and strengthened IGAs and agri-food SMEs.14
  • Increasing the value added and profitability of IGAs and SMEs
  • Access to financing for SMMEs is improved;
  • Beneficiary AEPS take advantage of the synergies and complementarities developed with other local projects and programs, in particular those financed by the C2D.

Reduction of post-harvest losses in the upstream agricultural sector

  • Increasing competitiveness (improving quality and reducing costs);
  • The development and improvement of the customer portfolio of SAEs and EMFs;
  • Improving the quality of services and professionalism of SAEs and EMFs;
  • Portfolio at Risk (PAR) reduction;
  • Improving the relationship between MFEs and PMEAs
